Ashley Burns
Communications Manager
Ashley Burns’s love for the arts developed at an early age due to both of her parents’ belief in the value of creativity and their own personal love of the arts. Her own involvement in and exposure to the arts led her to realize quickly she wanted to work in the creative world. In 2002, she began to work professionally in the arts sector, starting off as a freelance costume designer and wardrobe manager. Ashley designed and worked for many local theatres including; the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, Mizel Theatre, Walden Family Playhouse and Aurora Fox. She also had the privilege to design internationally for Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Ashley’s desire to use more of her natural skill set and to become a leader in the nonprofit arts and cultural sector led her to pursue a Masters in Arts and Cultural Management from Pratt Institute. While studying in New York City she worked for many of the nation’s leading arts institutions, including the Lincoln Center, Roundabout Theatre and New 42nd Street/ New Victory Theatre. Her work with them was focused in the areas of public relations, marketing and development. During her time in New York, she exposed herself to many art forms which furthered her passion to contribute to the amazing power of the arts. Ashley moved back to Colorado in 2007 to marry her husband Fabio and begin their lives together. Since moving back Ashley has had the privilege to work with such arts based nonprofits as Project YES, Boulder County Arts Alliance, East Boulder County Artists and the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission. She is very excited to be a part of the BNC team and contribute to furthering their commitment to accessible high quality dance.

Why BNC’s Nutcracker is a Step Above The Rest
What an exciting weekend it’s been at BNC with our opening of The Nutcracker. Seeing all the BNC parents full of pride and joy to watch their children perform their hearts out on stage has been so much fun. Greeting our guests as they enter the theater has filled me with the holiday spirit too. [...]
