A reminder to join your fellow Coloradans on December 6 Colorado Gives Day – to help raise $1 million in one day for Colorado charities!

Colorado Gives Day, a 24-hour state-wide fundraising event urging people to “give where you live,” is coming up on December 6, 2011. 100% of donations made will be given to the non-profit of your choice.

There are 100 different reasons why you should donate to Ballet Nouveau Colorado on December 6, 2011. At BNC, we believe that dance should be an enriching and fulfilling experience that is available and accessible to all. Through BNC’s various, on-going community enrichment programs, BNC has strived to bring dance to the lives of both children and adults from a variety of backgrounds who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity.

Reasons 90-86: Young Person’s Guide to Dance

  • #90:  Young Person’s Guide to Dance is an adventure through the history and theory dance.
  • #89:  This interactive performance combines BNC’s deep knowledge of elementary age, integrated learning techniques with its vibrant and engaging contemporary dance methodology.
  • #88:  Program is presented to school aged children and gets them excited about dance, movement, and staying active and healthy in a new way
  • #87:  Dance teaches children discipline and instruction at a young age.

Reasons #85-81: Anti-Bullying Program

  • #85:  In 2006, Ballet Nouveau Colorado created The Ugly Duckling Anti-Bullying Program in collaboration with Creating Caring Communities.
  • #84:  Since its inception, The Ugly Duckling has been presented to 17,000 school children across the Denver metro area.
  • #83:  This interactive performance uses dance to engage school age children in a thoughtful and engaging conversation about bullying.
  • #82:  The performance is interactive asks children to shout out answers so they become excited and involved in the message.
  • #81:  The program developed by BNC has become a national program and has been presented by both the Oklahoma City Ballet and Dance Theatre of Tennessee.
