Stop Stressin’

As we approach the upcoming months, we are ever so abruptly reminded just how stressful the end of the school year can be. This goes not only for the end of the traditional school year, but also for the semester’s final performances at BNC. This is one of the most crucial times to be aware of the priorities in our lives as well as healthy ways to adapt and handle all of the stress that we will be faced with. Consistent and long term stress can take a toll on our minds and bodies. If we are not prepared with the proper tools, we will eventually become completely burned out from both a physical stand point as well as an emotional one. Some of these tools for warding off stress are having sufficient and regular sleep cycles, meditation and deep breathing practices.

Along with the tools mentioned above, healthy and balanced eating is one of the most important tools one can have that is overlooked all too often. It is crucial to keeping our energy levels high and fueling our bodies with the nutrients that will prevent us from getting sick and run-down. When we are crunched with time, it is much easier to take a trip to the drive-thru than to prepare healthful meals and snacks, right? Wrong. Nowadays, proper eating habits are easier than you think; you just need to know the right places to look.

Recently, King Soopers has been implementing some really great ideas and resources for healthy living. They offer health and nutrition related seminars, and they even have some Registered Dieticians working on staff.  Ballet Nouveau Colorado has teamed up with King Soopers and you can purchase gift cards at the front desk for $10. The cards can then be loaded with up to $500 of spending money. Whatever is spent from these cards returns 5% back to the school of Ballet Nouveau Colorado. This is such a great way for anyone to donate to BNC and provide yourself with healthy food to keep you going strong!

One last announcement!

BNC will be hosting a free informational seminar on the effects of stress on the body along with tools to help deal with it. We will have some awesome guest speakers – Janet Legare, a Pediatrician, and Lori Lloyd, an acclaimed acupuncturist - who will be sharing their knowledge on the topic of stress. This seminar will be at BNC on Tuesday, April 24th at 6:15 pm.
