      • This year, we’ll have libations just for the 21+ crowd. Score.
      • Encourage your dancer to get pledges from friends, family and neighbors – they could win some pretty cool prizes if they get the most. Go Go Gadget competition!

Denver- On Saturday, July 9th, Ballet Nouveau Colorado (BNC) will host two events to celebrate dance that the whole community can enjoy.  From 3pm-5pm, the first annual BNC Open House will take place and then from 5pm-8pm BNC will host a Disco Dance Off Party, which is a dance-a-thon fundraiser.

The open house is free to attend and there will be age appropriate activities the whole family can enjoy. The focus of the Open House is to build community awareness about the three major programming areas that define BNC as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; the school, the company and the community programming, and will also highlight the importance of healthy eating.  These three programming areas are tied closely to the mission of BNC, which is to enrich lives through innovation in dance. BNC has also taken special note of the importance of health and wellness of the dancers in the school and have provided for these needs by bringing in physical therapists and healthy snack shop items to the studio.  The event will also involve some of BNC’s nutrition partners and experts, they include; local author, Olena Burda Lassen, who wrote The Vitamin Band Book, owners of Healthy Kids Cooking Classes, Jennifer Simon and Amy Holecek and Dana Miller, (staff title needed) of the nonprofit Grow Local. Activities will include: dance demonstrations and mini-workshops, free food, fun games, crafts, drawings to win prizes and much more. This portion of the event will culminate with the opportunity to join our flash mob taught by BNC’s Associate Artistic Director, Dawn Fay.

Then, get your groove on at BNC’s Disco Dance Off from 5pm-8pm. This 70’s themed dance party will have dance rooms for all ages from 3 yr. olds through adults. This portion of the day’s activities is a dance-a-thon fundraiser to help support Ballet Nouveau Colorado in fulfilling their mission in all three programming areas. There are two ways individuals can choose to participate, collect sponsorship pledges or pay to enter the dance party. Then, dance the night away during this competition. Points will be awarded for costume, shoes, make-up, hair, crazy dance moves, longest dance time, most pledges collected and so on. All dance participants will enjoy snacks, prizes and great music to boogie down! Adult admission fee is $10 and children under 18 years of age admission fee is $20. Don’t forget if you get pledges admission is free! For additional information about participating go to www.bncdance.com
